				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Do you want to have your questions answered by Mayor McGinn or a City Council member? Do you want the opportunity to talk with experts about issues that you are passionate about, such as youth violence or the environment? If yes, then come to the Seattle Youth Town Hall on May 22, 2010, hosted by the Seattle Youth Commission!</p>
<p>The Youth Town Hall will be at the Vera Project at the Seattle Center between 12:00 and 4:00. You can learn about various youth organizations at the resource fair from 12:00-1:00. From 1:00-2:30 the Mayor and City Council members will be available to answer questions. After the question and answer, you can participate in round table discussions from 2:30-4:00, where you can share your ideas with others and talk with an expert in a specific area. Food will be provided as well. 				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We are now recruiting for the 2010-2011 Seattle Youth Commission.   Applications will be accepted until <strong>Wednesday, May 12<sup> </sup>, 2010.</strong></p>
<p>The Seattle Youth Commission (SYC), formerly the Mayor’s Youth Council, connects and engages Seattle’s youth in the City’s civic participatory process, exposing our elected officials to the voices and perspectives of YOUTH. This is a great opportunity for young people to develop their leadership, facilitation and public speaking skills and network with City Lawmakers, local community leaders,  and other youth. </p>
<p>Youth Commissioners are expected to:</p>
<ul>
<li>Organize a series of youth community meetings</li>
<li>Research, construct, and present policy recommendations to the Seattle Mayor and City Council</li>
<li>Participate in the planning of the annual Seattle Youth Town Hall</li>
</ul>
