All are invited to the Grand Cajun Yesler Swamp Ribbon-Cutting Celebration on Sunday, September 21. It will be held from 2-4 p.m. at the Center for Urban Horticulture (3501 NE 41st Street). At this FREE celebration, there will be guided swamp walks and music by the Folichon Cajun Band, along with jambalaya and watermelon to enjoy. There will also be a short program to recognize those who made the Yesler Swamp Trail possible. Donations will be accepted to help finish the trail.
The Yesler Swamp Trail recently received a Neighborhood Matching Fund award of $63,645 to construct an additional 200’ of boardwalk and complete the restoration of Yesler Swamp.
