Meet Laura Jenkins

Laura is a Community Engagement Coordinator for Central Seattle. She grew up in southwest Washington and ended up in Seattle after a stint in Southern California. She loves reading books on the bus (shout out to Seattle Public Libraries and King County Metro 😉), getting flowers at the farmers market, and walking to the nearest park. Laura started working with the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods three years ago as an AmeriCorps VISTA member with the nonprofit Cities of Service. Although many of her experiences up to that point showed her the importance of community, the AmeriCorps role solidified her passion to pursue work rooted in community.
