Beacon Rocks! this Sunday

This Neighborhood Matching Fund Small Sparks-supported event features a diverse line-up of music this Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.  Located on Lander Festival Street (the block between the Beacon Hill Light Rail Station and El Centro de la Raza) this is the first in a series of free concerts.  The line-up is:

1:00  Welcome & Lion Dance by Jun Hong Kung Fu Assaociation

1:15  Robert Hinrix & Angela Castenada, guitar & vocal

1:45  Rockit Dancers & Jun Hong Kung Fu demonstration

2:00  Octothorpe, Ecclectic Rock

2:45  El Centro Zumba! interactive Latin Dance

3:00  Better World, Jazz with Marc Smason ,Joanne Klein front , Craig Hoyer, Jeff Davies.

3:45  El Centro Zumba! interactive Latin Dance

4:00  Unite One, Rap, regae, funk fusion!

Thanks to the generosity of Luis Rodriguez, owner of “The Station coffe shop” many local restaurants will be providing food vending near his shop on 16th Ave South.

Bring the family ( maybe your lawn chairs ) and enjoy the afternoon. El Centro’s playground will be open. Folks can also make rubbings of the beautiful ethnic patterns on the Light Rail Station Plaza and review the 55 designs by local Artist Carl Smool which represent many of the communities that share Beacon Hill.
