The 2010 Tree Fund Awardees attended a Training Workshop October 9 on how to plant and care for the street trees and fruit trees they will receive in late October. City Arborist Nolan Rundquist presented a slide show and discussion along with Neighborhood Matching Fund staff. Nearly 280 trees will be planted later this month adding to the tree canopy in Seattle. Through the Tree Fund, Seattle residents have planted more than 20,000 trees and have built stronger community connections along the way.
