Lower Kinnear Park Open House June 30

The Friends of Lower Kinnear Park (FOLKpark), Department of Neighborhoods and Seattle Parks and Recreation are hosting an open house Thursday, June 30, 2011 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Bayview Retirement Community, 11 W. Aloha St., to share information about the Lower Kinnear Park project.

The community is encouraged to attend the open house meeting and see how the community’s vision from last year’s design meetings has developed into a new plan for the park. Participants will learn about the proposed restoration of the forest, the link to the waterfront, trail improvements, tennis court renovation, and the off-leash area.

The project is one of 15 to receive funding from the Parks and Green Spaces Levy Opportunity Fund. A final meeting will take place on October 27, 2011.
