Do you want to learn more about proposed changes in your neighborhood? Community members are invited to a public meeting to discuss the development plans for Aki Kurose Middle School located at 3928 S. Graham St., Seattle, WA 98118. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 15, at 6 p.m. in the school’s cafeteria.
The Seattle School District is requesting a modification (also known as a “departure”) from a City zoning regulation per Seattle Municipal Code, SMC 23.51B, and the Public-School Departures Process, SMC 23.79:
- Increased lot coverage
- Increased building height
- Reduced long-term bicycle parking
- Electronic reader board
The Seattle School District will make a presentation on the modification before the Aki Kurose Middle School Development Standards Departure Advisory Committee, a group composed of neighbors and Seattle School District and City representatives. After the presentation, the public is invited to provide comments. Following public comments, the committee will deliberate and consider the District’s request. Additional meetings may be held, if needed.
If community members cannot attend the meeting, written comments can be submitted by Tuesday, July 15th to:

It is a program of Seattle Department of Neighborhoods.
