Ballard Avenue Landmark District Board Announces Candidates for Annual Election

The Ballard Avenue Landmark District (BLD) Board will hold its annual election of board members. Community members who are registered for this election will receive a ballot and self-addressed stamped envelope by mail. Physical ballots must be received by the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods by Tuesday, June 9, 2026. Voters are encouraged to return their ballots early to make sure they are received by the June 9, 2026 deadline.  

Two board positions are up for election:

  • Position #6 for Property Owner or Business Person
  • Position #7 for Property Owner

Nominations closed on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. Three candidates were nominated for Position #7. None were nominated for Position #6. Candidate names are provided below. Brief candidate statements will be included in the ballot.

The Ballard Avenue Landmark District is a nationally recognized historic district established in 1976 to commemorate the neighborhood’s unique place in Ballard’s history. To preserve its special character, the Ballard Avenue Landmark District Board reviews and approves changes to building exteriors within the district before changes are made, such as signs, awnings, window transparency, paint colors, street furniture, and new construction.
