Greenwood Streetscapes will hold an open house at the Greenwood Library on May 18 from 6:15 to 9 p.m.
Greenwood Streetscapes is a group of neighbors working with consultants on a web-based planning project that will help blocks of people who want sidewalks by providing them with the tools they need to get them. The nearly $200K project is funded by neighborhood donations and a $100,000 award from the City of Seattle Neighborhood Matching Fund program.
The tools include an easy-to-use step by step guide to walkable streetscapes, GIS maps of every block without sidewalks in Greenwood, schematic ideas that match a variety of typical conditions in the neighborhood, a matrix of streetscape choices that include both traditional and attractive alternative solutions, a comprehensive list of possible funding / financing options that include ways for people to pay for their own sidewalks, and more.
This is a great way to get and stay connected with your neighbors in block-based groups and to enjoy the fun, informative, and creative opportunities for both adults & kids at the Open House. For more information, click here.
