Mark your calendars and get your tickets for the sixth edition of Blues for Food Fest coming up soon at Magnuson Park Amphitheatre and P-Patch, September 1, noon-9 pm.
This all-day celebration of good friends, good food and good music benefits P-Patch food bank and giving gardens, the P-Patch Trust and the Washington Blues Society’s Musicians Relief Fund, while raising awareness about hunger and celebrating the hard-working, generous volunteers who grow over 28,000 pounds of organic produce every year for donation to food banks and meals programs.
Six great bands, a beer and wine tent, dancing on the grass, scrumptious food by local vendors, the fabulous Blues for Food Fest pie auction…you can’t beat it for a great time at a great price. And all for such a good cause! Don’t forget to bring your homegrown produce and/or non-perishables to the “Beet Hunger” booth: at the end of the festival, all food donations will be delivered by Lettuce Link to a local food bank.
Blues for Food Fest is the perfect, laid-back, community-oriented, bluesy alternative to Bumbershoot. If you’ve never been, it’s time to check it out. There’s free parking, too!
