Seattle City Council recently approved landmark designation ordinances for three new City of Seattle landmarks. Located in the Queen Anne/Fremont, Maple Leaf, and University District neighborhoods, these landmarks exemplify the diversity and the rich cultural and architectural heritage of our city.
The City of Seattle Landmarks Preservation Board approved the nomination, designation, and controls and incentives for each of these landmarks, and provided draft ordinances to City Council for approval.
The new landmarks are:
- Alexander Hall on the Seattle Pacific University campus completed in 1893

- Neptune Building built in 1921 (1301 NE 45th Street)
Architect: Henderson Ryan
Seattle Department of Neighborhoods Historic Preservation Program is responsible for the designation and protection of more than 400 historic structures, sites, objects, and vessels, as well as seven historic districts located throughout the city.
