Middle school students are invited to join the Center of the Universe Art & Architecture Design Studio in Fremont. This FREE five-session program will take place on Wednesdays, June 25 through July 23, from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m., at the Fremont Branch of the Seattle Public Library. Roosterwax, a local nonprofit educational organization, is presenting this event; and it was made possible by the Fremont Chamber of Commerce and a Neighborhood Matching Fund award from the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods.
The program will begin with a tour of whimsical Fremont to examine how art is incorporated into buildings and the neighborhood. Students will then participate in design studios in which they will choose a building or a section of Fremont to design an architectural project that incorporates art. At the conclusion of the program all participants will present their design concept to friends, family and the community.
Advance registration is required. Enrollment is limited to 25 participants, so students should enroll online at www.roosterwax.com as soon as possible. The mission of Roosterwax, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is to inspire and inform K-12 students who are interested in architecture.
