Northwest Seattle: You are Invited to be a Part of the Evanston P-Patch Renovation Project

Evanston P-PatchThe Friends of the Evanston P-Patch recently received a $25,000 Seattle Department of Neighborhoods Neighborhood Matching Fund award to renovate the community garden located at 604 N. 101st Street between Evanston Ave. N. and Fremont Ave. N. Evanston P-Patch is the second oldest community garden in Seattle and was established in 1974.

On Sunday, July 26 at 5:30 p.m., the Evanston P-Patch gardening community and their landscape architecture firm, Barker Landscape Architects, will be holding a community meeting and potluck to gather input from the community on what changes people want to see in the garden.

The meeting will take place in the garden and promises to be a lot of fun. Barker will conduct a design game to gather people’s input that’s very interactive. Also, Top Pot doughnuts is providing some treats and the event is a potluck. Everyone is welcome, not just gardeners.

Here are the meeting dates, times, and basic details. All meetings will be held in the garden:

  1. Sunday July 26, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.; Garden Party Workshop #1 (design games)
  2. Sunday August 30, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.; Garden Party Workshop #2 (review of design concepts)
  3. Sunday September 27, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.; Garden Party Workshop #3 (review of final designs)

The goal is to get as many people to participate in the meetings as possible so the revitalization of this little North Seattle gem will be robust, inclusive, and long-lasting.
