What makes your neighborhood special?
I love my neighbors, both residential and business. I feel like I’m back in my small town of La Marque, Texas, which is a wonderful feeling. I am welcomed in my neighborhood and it is important that I am welcoming to others. Alas, the neighborhood is becoming less diverse which bums me out.

What did you do prior to joining the Department of Neighborhoods? What excited you about the work?
I had the privilege of working at the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) for the Fire Chief on special projects. I enjoyed getting to know the women and men who help take care of our city. It was a sheer honor to work at SFD.  I learned a lot and made some lifelong friends.

What made you want to work at the Department of Neighborhoods?
The ability to be able to positively contribute to making the city I live in a better place, by being a voice for our community members. I love people.  Working at DON gives me the opportunity to spread information, love, grace, laughter and more. I am so blessed to have the opportunity to work with such amazing professionals.

What’s your favorite place in Seattle and why?
Any place that allows me to see the glorious mountains, take in the lush greenery and allows me to gaze upon the water…I just LOVE Seattle!

What are you passionate about?
Ending human trafficking. Making a way forward for homeless youth and young adults, who are matriculating out of the foster care system. Supporting, encouraging and cheering on women. Delivering and receiving Excellent Customer Service!! FOOD!!! Exercise/working out.
