It’s been a busy month for the Landmarks Preservation Board and our staff as the Board designated several recognizable buildings as City landmarks: Town Hall Seattle, the former Fourth Church of Christ, Scientist on First Hill, the Ballard Carnegie Library on NW Market Street and the Neptune Building and Theater in the University District. It is interesting to note that both the Neptune Building and Theater and the Ballard Carnegie Library were designed by architect Henderson Ryan. The former Fourth Church of Christ, Scientist was designed by architect George Foote Dunham. To read the landmark nominations and learn about the history of each building, you can find it here.
