Rep. Jim McDermott announced that he is requesting $5 million to help pay for planning, construction and demolition of the existing bridge.  As the bridge closure date approaches, Seattle Department of Neighborhoods is working with businesses and community organizations to mitigate the impact of closure on the South Park neighborhood.
